FAQ

1. How long does it typically take for us to receive our photos?

The turnaround time for your images is generally less than 60 days from the date of your wedding, and 3-4 weeks for engagements or bridals. Every image you receive will be individually adjusted for color, white balance, and sharpened for printing.

I also don't put a limit on the number of images you'll receive; if I think you'll like it and it tells your story, it's included in your final gallery. All sessions are delivered via convenient online galleries for easy downloading to your computer.

2. How would you describe your photography style?

A bridge between fine art/editorial and photojournalistic. While we'll take the time to create artistic and formal photos, it's important to follow the natural events of the day as they unfold, and the relationships and emotions that make those moments so special. The crinkle-nose-laughing shots are just as important as the classic portraits, and those are the photos that spark memories and joy when you look at them for years to come.

Another thing my clients choose me for is my perception of light; being able to find and utilize different lighting in various situations throughout day is one of my greatest strengths.

3. How long have you been shooting weddings?

I have over 12 years of experience shooting weddings, and during that time I have gained a proven track record of excellent customer service.

I'm proficient with posing, lighting (both natural and flash photography), and confidently rallying large groups of wedding guests for group photos.

It's important to me to that you have a wonderful experience from the beginning to the end of our time together.

4. Do you retouch skin on the images?

You're investing in me for the most important day of your life, and I'm going to make you look your best. I do natural skin retouching on nearly everything included in your gallery. If it's outside of your control or not something permanent (ie., freckles stay, acne goes), then I'll take care of it. My goal with retouching is still to make you look as natural and radiant as possible.

That all said, my biggest regret of my own wedding was not hiring a professional makeup artist. Those folks are wizards, and really the only option if you want your makeup to last from the walk down the aisle through the afterparty.

5. Do we need to print our photos through you?

Nope! You will receive a personal use print release with your photos, so while I offer gorgeous fine art albums, gallery-wrapped canvases, and exquisite prints through professional-grade labs, you have the freedom to print your photos wherever you please.

Photos & wedding albums that you choose to print directly through me will have an additional level of skin retouching included.

How does the booking process work?

1. Fill Out Contact Form

Fill out the contact form or email me directly at kathrynbrunsphoto@gmail.com. Please include as many details as you'd like, but I need to know your desired date, venue, and your fiance's name! I'll respond within 2 business days, and if I'm available we will set up a consultation to make sure we're a good fit. We'll also discuss how much coverage you may need.

2. Sign Contract

When you're ready to book, I'll send you a contract and an invoice for your retainer; this reserves your wedding date and goes toward your overall wedding package.

After booking, we'll schedule your engagement and/or bridal session.

3. The Big Day!!

Prior to your wedding, I'll send you a simple form requesting all the details I might need for the day. I'll coordinate with your venue or wedding planner if necessary, and confirm all timeline details.

Then you leave the rest to your team of vendors while you enjoy the most beautiful - and fast! - day of your lives.

4. Delivery

While you're off on the honeymoon, I'll be swooning over your photos. The turnaround time for your wedding gallery will be up to 8 weeks, depending on my workload. But you will always get sneak peeks sooner than that! When your gallery arrives, grab yourself a blanket (and maybe some cake) while you relive the day together.
