I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite photos from a recent engagement session I had the pleasure of capturing on behalf of Shannon Elizabeth Photography. As a Utah wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing so many of my own clients' love stories, but it's also a joy to be able to work on behalf of other talented photographers as well.

From Utah to Newport Beach

When Shannon asked me about photographing Holland & Spencer's Newport Beach wedding, I really couldn't say no. I adore that California light, and Orange County is certainly one of my favorite places in California. After "meeting" Holland over a Zoom call and getting to know her, I was even more excited to be able to work with them. Not only are these folks stunning, they're exceptionally kind. And does anyone else agree that Holland could totally be a sister to actress Florence Pugh?

Holland met Spencer via a mutual friend, on a weekend cabin trip. While she originally had her sights set on another guy, meeting Spencer was an instant connection. That connection has clearly only grown with time, and we now have a backyard wedding in Newport Beach to look forward to next month, which I'm honored to also be able to photograph for them!

Salt Lake City Engagement Session

The number one priority for Holland & Spencer's engagement session was a location featuring European charm and an elegant, airy color palette. While not feasible for all three of us to fly to the charming streets of France to accomplish that, we're lucky here in Salt Lake City to have the stunning Thomas S. Monson Building in downtown Salt Lake City. This is easily one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions or bridals.

H&S are absolute naturals in front of the camera. We're talking digital gold, here. It's the biggest compliment when clients are willing to be open and comfortable in front of my lens, and trusting me to capture that part of their story. And as you can see, it translates beautifully. Each photo is evidence of how connected and cozy they are together.

Newport Beach Temple Wedding

I'm counting the days to joining these two lovebirds in California, and it's not even my own wedding! The couple will be sealed together for time and eternity in the Newport Beach Temple. It's truly an honor not only to work with Shannon, but to be considered her temple-wedding specialist for her couples who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After their sealing and family portraits on the temple steps, we'll return to Holland's family's home for what we hope will be a sun-soaked evening. Seriously, I'm already dreaming about that California glow. And while I know a lot of folks love big, glamorous wedding venues, in my opinion, intimate backyard weddings are the best.

Thank you, Holland and Spencer, for trusting me with this joyous task of documenting this time of your lives. And thank you Shannon, for trusting me to bring your quality of service and signature style to this amazing couple on your behalf.
